Baltimore, Toronto and Atlanta Con Prints
If you've been following my tweets and Facebook posts, you know I've very much been on the move. Baltimore, Toronto and now Dragon*Con in Atlanta. Whew. Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg, isn't it?
I've been keeping up with the series of convention prints along the way, though. And while I've posted these on Facebook and Twitter, I haven't had a chance to put them up here, along with ordering information if you're interested. These have been a lot of fun, and I'm very happy with how they've been turning out. It's been a fun challenge to figure out locations and images for each area that are interesting and not too trite (hence me not doing a CN Tower image for Toronto, for example).

Missed San Diego? Buy a Piece of it, LNC style!
I'm back from San Diego and Los Angeles, and climbing a pretty tall stack of things that have piled up in my absence. But I wanted to make sure I posted this since some people have asked about it: You can now buy the San Diego/Kansas City Barbecue print from this year's show.
Love and Capes/Kansas City BBQ San Diego Print
I'll be making my yearly trek out to San Diego next week , where'll I'll set up base camp at Booth #2000, in the Independent Press Pavilion. Come on by and say "hello", or better yet, "Can I buy something from you?" Along with everything else, I'll have a new convention print. This one's a little different. I talked with the manager of the Kansas City Barbeque, right across from the San Diego Convention Center and home of the Sleazy Bar Scene from Top Gun, and got permission to have the Crusader and Darkblade enjoying a dinner at their fine and establishment.
So, here's what's happening. I'll have the regular limited edition 12x18 prints over at my booth. There will also be a much-less limited edition print over at the Kansas City Barbeque as well. The ones over there will be 11x17 and feature a little dialogue as well and will be available as of the Thursday of the show. So you've got no excuse for not picking one up.
And, if you're a location in one of my next shows (Baltimore, Toronto, New York, Detroit, Columbus and Atlanta) and want to figure out something to do featuring your landmark, let me know.
Comic Books and Blue Jeans
My friend Kate Kotler asked for a piece of art for her charity auction benefiting the Hero Initiative. It quickly occured to me that this was my chance to do the Chicago Convention Print that I didn't do for C2E2, mostly because I wasn't inspired to do these prints until after that show. So, I donated this image of Mark and Abby, enjoying the Windy City. Both the original black and white art, and the color print are available at the event.
I've mentioned before, I'm sure, that Deco City is heavily based on Chicago. I love the style of the city, the art deco architecture, the way it uses its rivers and lake, and its midwestern charm. It's like Cleveland, but bigger with more stuff to do and more people. (Sorry, Cleveland. I love you, you know I do, based in no small part by where I keep my house. But I do miss your awesome 90's heyday and hope we're on the path back.) So it was a treat to draw Mark and Abby in the city that inspired their home.
Right now, only the original and one print are available at the auction. But, next year at C2E2, I'll have the standard limited-edition 25 at my booth at the show. Look, I'm ahead of the game for once!
Miami Prints and San Diego Shirts
I'm back from Miami, and that was a Michael Westonish adventure, let me tell you. I'll be writing about that later.
For now, let's talk shopping and help me defray the cost of the bribes I made to get smuggled over the Florida border! I've got several of the Miami exclusive prints left. If you'd like one, they're available for order. Each one is signed and numbered, and mailed flat.

The Harvey Awards and Me, Together Again
It's happened again, and I'm once again humbled… I've been nominated for a Harvey Award, the Special Award for Humor in Comics. I'm up against Shannon Wheeler ("I Thought You Would be Funnier"), Ryan Sohmer ("The Gutters"), Roger Landridge ("The Muppet Show") and some guy named Matt Groening ("The Simpsons"). With that line up, let me just say that it's an honor just to be nominated. Still, if you're a comics professional and are going to vote in the Harvey Awards, I'd appreciate your consideration. Come to Me, My Finny Friends
Commissions have been rolling in lately. Here's one of Aquaman and Mera. The Sea King has had some rough times in the comics lately, and I'm hoping his return to the DCNu will be a little brighter time for him.
I wouldn't hold my breath, though.
Taking my Talents to South Beach, part 2
Next week I'll be at the Miami Supercon. It's my first time at the show, and I'm very much looking forward to it. All I know about Miami, really, is that if I get in trouble I need to contact Michael Weston, and that it is filled with the tears of the underperforming LeBron James. I'll be at booth 820.
And, since it's me at another show, I'm doing another print. This Miami print has Abby and Amazonia taking a stroll in South Beach. It's probably the only place Amazonia would be considered appropriately dressed. Prints are 12x18 and limited to 25 signed copies.

Stopping a Bullet Cold
I'll be showing off some of my commissions from Charlotte over the next couple of days. Here's one that was actually just me messing around in a moment of quiet at the booth.
I also like the expression and body language. She's really throwing that lasso and using it as a weapon, isn't she?
