Sometimes the best ideas never see the light of day.

The task was to create a name and a theme for a coffee shop. Our idea: Lava Java, a Polynesian-themed coffee house, much the same was Caribou Coffee has an Alaskan-flavor. The store would specialize in Kona coffee and other Hawaiian blends, as well as other coffee and drinks.

The client liked the concept, but not the graphic treatment and went with another logo. This logo remains a favorite, though, and I think is very representative of what the studio is capable of producing, marrying fun visuals with great design.

While the logo to the left appears in color, a black and white, and a preferred brown ink treatment, were planned for and provided as well.
